Prof. (Dr.) Md. Ayub Ali is Professor and Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at BSMMU, Dhaka, with over 30 years of experience in the field.
He obtained his MBBS in 1984 from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College, Barisal, under Dhaka University, and began teaching in 1995 as a lecturer in the Anatomy Department of Dhaka Medical College after standing first in the competitive lectureship examination. He obtained his FCPS in surgery from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1999, and in 2006 completed the MS in Plastic Surgery under Dhaka University, having been selected in 2003 for the first MS programme in plastic surgery in Bangladesh.
His advanced training abroad includes a Smile Train fellowship (2006), the International Workshop on Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taipei (2006), a Fellowship in Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery under Professor Dr. Jyotsna Murthy in Chennai (2007), and training in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery under Professor Dr. Raja Sabapathy at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore (2008).
